Since launching the ByK Kids Bike Range, Warren Key has been inundated with comments from parents thanking him for putting the time and energy into creating what truly is the first ever children's bike made just for children. And its not just the sizing and measurements of the bike that makes it for kids, its the small features that matter to adult biking enthusiasts that Warren has incorproated into the ByK design. We thought we'd share this email recently received by Warren.... "Hello, I'm looking for a bike for our grandson. I have no problem finding ... "sea anchors" but a great deal of difficulty finding anything remotely close to "decent." I found your children's E250 very interesting. Unfortunately, I'm located in Denver, Colorado, USA. Are you selling bikes in the United States? If not, do you have any idea how I might obtain a bike from Australia?... ...I'm a 57-year old avid cyclist who owns several bicycles built up with the best frame materials and components. My bicycles all weigh less than any-12 inch starter youth bike! I've spent hours looking through the web and have found nothing but "insults" to art of cycle building. Of course, they are just manufacturing exactly what the bicycle companies want . . . poorly designed and built "throwaway" bicycles. They are inexpensive and VERY cheaply built. Since our oldest grandchild just turned three, I have been blissfully unaware of how bad the children's bicycle market was. What an awakening!... ... I really admire your approach to making bicycling accessible to children. The bicycling industry spends millions of dollars on innovation for adults, but very little for children. Best wishes . . . your product is really needed!" Bruce |
